fond的用法
fond是形容词它有两个比较常见的意思,一个是“喜爱的,喜欢的”,另一个是“温情的,慈爱的”。
fond作为形容词表示喜欢时,一般是与系词be或get,become和介词of搭配,即be fond of。of后接名词或代词,也可接动名词。be fond of是考试常考到的点。
1.fond可以表示“喜欢某人”,特别指认识很久的人。比如:
Over the years, I have grown quite fond of her. 过这么多年,我越来越喜欢她了。

I am very fond of Michael.我很喜欢迈克尔。
I've always been very fond of your mother.我一直非常喜欢你的母亲。Anne was fond of Tim, though he often annoyed her.安妮喜欢蒂姆,虽然他经常使她心烦。
He seemed fond of her in a strictly professional way.他似乎仅限于以职业的方式喜欢她。
2.fond还可表示“喜欢某物”,后面多跟名词。比如:

He is fond of cooking.他喜好烹饪。He is fond of worldly enjoyments.他喜爱世俗的享乐。We had grown fond of the house and didn't want to leave.我们已经喜欢上了这座房子,不想搬家。
As a matter of fact, many women in the past have always been fond of housework.事实上,过去许多女人一直就喜欢做家。

He was fond of marmalade.他很喜欢橘子酱。He's rather too fond of the sound of his own voice.他太爱讲话了。

3.fond表示“喜欢做(某事/令人讨厌的事)”,后面跟动名词。比如:
Sheila's very fond of telling other people what to do.希拉好对别人指手画脚。
He was exceedingly fond of reading English novels in the original.他特别喜欢读原版的英文小说。
I am fond of planting flowers.我喜欢种花。

4.fond的第二个意思是“温情的,慈爱的”,这时,fond可用作定语,放在名词前。在文中要注意对它意思的正确理解。比如:
He gave her a fond smile.他充满柔情地朝她微微一笑。
He is a fond father.他是一个慈爱的父亲。
a fond look慈爱的目光;a fond embrace温情的拥抱;a fond farewell深情的告别
